Let me start off by telling you how excited we all are at the Town as we continue to move closer to normal and reopen not only our programs and events to the public but our businesses, schools and society. It has been an incredibly trying time for so many and its good to see we are on the path toward recovery. Here in Apple Valley we have resumed in-person attendance at all of our public Council and Commission meetings. As our residents start to travel again we’ve resumed providing passports services as well. Our parks, recreation programs, and special events are a big part of what make Apple Valley the best place to live and play in the High Desert. So, when the weather warmed and COVID cases continued to dwindle, the Town began scheduling a full slate of summer entertainment including the popular Freedom Festival, Sunset Concert Series, Day Camp, and more. It wouldn’t be summer in Apple Valley without fireworks. This year we can once again all watch them together inside Brewster Park at the Freedom Festival on July 4. The gates will open at 2 p.m. for an afternoon and evening of food vendors, shopping, kid’s activities, and live music. Local favorite Southern Spirit will take the stage in the afternoon, followed by headline band Phoenix Rising, also an Apple Valley fan favorite. The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. Please note, there is no smoking, pets or barbecues allowed inside the park. Lenny Brewster Sports Center is located at 21024 Otoe Road off Dale Evans Parkway.
