SUPPORT YOUR RESIDENT TODAY
Help The Ruth and Naomi Project Better Support Your Loved One
When a nonprofit steps in to support seniors in need—providing essential care, meals, companionship, and advocacy becomes a lifeline for both the seniors and their families. Volunteering is a powerful way for families to give back, strengthen the support system, and ensure long-term care for their loved ones. At The Ruth and Naomi Project, we are one big family and our seniors have expressed that they would like more of both families – ours and yours!
Why are we asking you to give back by volunteering?
How You Can Help:
✔ Assist with activities and social engagement for seniors.
✔ Help with meal distribution or delivery.
✔ Assist with gardening and yard work.
✔ Pitch in with home cleaning and/or maintenance.
✔ Offer professional skills (e.g., legal, financial, medical) to benefit the residents.
✔ Organize fundraising or donation drives to support our senior programs.

Volunteering is a powerful way for families to give back, strengthen the support system, and ensure long-term care for their loved ones. Why are we asking you to give back by volunteering?
- It strengthens the community that cares for your loved one. Your family member benefits from compassionate, high-quality housing and care, but nonprofits rely on community involvement to sustain and expand their services. By volunteering, you help lighten the load for caregivers, ensuring that your senior family members get the attention and support they need.
- It ensures long-term sustainability of services. Many nonprofits operate with limited funding and staff, making volunteer support essential. When families step in to help, they enable the organization to stretch resources further—meaning more meals, activities, and direct care for seniors in need.
- It creates a personal connection with your loved one’s care. Volunteering allows you to be actively involved in your loved one’s well-being. Whether it’s helping with activities, assisting with meal services, or simply spending quality time with seniors, your presence can enhance their daily experience.
- It builds a culture of giving and gratitude. Your time and energy help create a culture of shared responsibility, showing appreciation for the organization that supports your family. It also sets an example for younger generations, teaching them the value of giving back to the community.
- It is a flexible way to make a big difference. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to fit different schedules and skill sets. Whether you have an hour a week or a few hours a month, your contribution matters.

Our New Volunteer Policy is effective as of March 1, 2025. The Policy:
- For 2025, we are asking that the family members of each senior volunteer 40 hours per calendar year. These hours can be broken up in any manner that works for your family. We will be tracking these hours using a shared google document that will be private for each family/senior.
- If you cannot volunteer some or all of the hours, you can donate $25 an hour in lieu of your participation for a total of $1,000.00 per calendar year.
- For example, your family can volunteer 20 hours in 2025, you would then owe $500.00 for not completing the remaining 20 hours in order to total 40.
- Another example - Your family loves volunteering and volunteers 50 hours – you would not owe anything whatsoever, and you would have our deepest gratitude.
- If you know that you cannot volunteer at all, please visit the donate page and you can either donate $1000 now or set up a payment plan for $250 increments in March, May, August, and November on our donate page as recurring payments.
